The script is being handled by the man Lawrence Kasdan AKA the guy that co-wrote Empire Strikes Back, Return of The Jedi and Indiana Jones and the Raiders of The Lost Ark. I'm not too worried.

That's the only gripe I have with Abrams but I've liked what he's done with the Star Trek reboots so I am cautiously optimistic.
